In 2005, the annual Diamond Eye Kilo Silver Coin celebrates the Year of the Rooster with a reverse design featuring a rooster with a diamond in its visible eye. The design includes a rising sun and the flower of a camellia, a Chinese native plant, as well as the Chinese character for 'rooster' and the 2005 year-date. These elements appear within a symbolic border of bats and clouds, which are coloured purple and yellow - traditional colours used on the Chinese Emperor's robe.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin portrays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination on the obverse.
