Year of the Monkey Design

Each coin, struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver, depicts a monkey sitting on a tree branch and the Chinese character for 'monkey'. The design includes a border of five bats among the clouds, symbolising health, peace and prosperity, and the Chinese character for 'monkey'.

Superior Quality

The Collection incorporates all four versions of the 1oz coin in the 2004 Australian Lunar Silver Coin Series. They are the 1oz Bullion coin, 1oz Coloured Edition, 1oz Gilded Edition and the superb 1oz Proof coin. Together, the four coins create a numismatically fascinating collection.

Australian Legal Tender

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, each 2004-dated coin features Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
